  My brother was admitted there for 9 days with a torn muscle on his arm. Parkland’s mission is to provide high quality healthcare service to their valued patients. Unfortunately, we experienced opposite. Dr Shiv Prasad Parajuli, Orthopedic Surgeon, and his team, who was taking care of my injured brother at the facility was found very unresponsive, unprofessional, careless and lack seriousness on his duty. Why?? Here is the reason. My brother got admitted and they cleaned up the wound and did all the necessary procedures. Looking at the nature of injury, my parent asked Dr Parajuli wether we need to take him to Kathmandu ( other higher center). He said, “Dont worry about taking him anywhere, we can do it here”. We were hopeful that Dr Parajuli and his team will take care good of him. All the necessary medications were provided but the wound was not healing as it supposed to. Nurses, who were helping cleaning (dressing) the wound were only cleaning outside areas. Nobody even noticed my brother’s flesh was rotting inside. After 8th day of unsuccessful treatment, Dr Parajuli finally asked my family If we want to transfer him to higher center. We all broke right there and then knowing we were believing on something that does not even exist at Parkland Hospital; professionalism, proper care, commitment, respect, and value of patient. We spent almost 1.5 lakh for nothing but pain, suffering, inconvenience, dirtiness and nastiness. Why we got their at the first place? We live 2 blocks away from this hospital. Couple of my friends are medical professional who works there. What we did next? We transferred him to one of the hospitals in Kathmandu and he is doing well. At least the infected wound got cleaned up properly. Doctors who are working in his case can easily suspect this damage due to lack of seriousness towards one’s duty, without proper care. To the management of Parkland, I tried to reach Dr Parajuli, via your web site, there is no available link except facebook, associated with his profile. What is the purpose of keeping someone’s picture which directs to their facebook page?? Does that even make any sense?
